Visiting the Salk Institute

How public tour booking works
View available Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday tour dates.
Select the 10:00 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. tour.
Select ticket quantities and complete payment online.
Bring your confirmation and check in with Security upon arrival.
How private tour requests work
Provide your group size and first and second choices for the tour date and time.
Staff review campus scheduling and docent availability.
If approved, you will receive the confirmed date, payment link, waiver instructions and arrival details.
Your private tour is officially booked once payment is received.
Planning your visit
Public parking is not available on the Salk Institute campus. Please use nearby public parking and allow an additional 15–20 minutes to park and walk to the Institute.
Visitors must follow Salk’s photography and videography guidelines. Professional or commercial photography and filming are not permitted during architectural tours.
The Institute is closed to visitors on weekends, holidays and during certain private events. Tours are subject to availability, and Salk may need to reschedule a tour.
Visitors may see ongoing conservation or restoration activity on campus, including work in or around the main courtyard.
